Last week, we were thrilled to hear the news that OR Amber Anning became World Indoor Champion over 400 metres. Amber returned to Roedean to inspire the next generation after her Olympic success and her most recent achievement is remarkable, congratulations!

It was wonderful to see so many of our students take part in the three performances on Thursday. The Afternoon of Dance show was made up of ten different pieces and the students’ displayed impressive choreography in a range of styles including Ballet, Tap and K-Pop. Year 8 took part in a fantastic Bollywood workshop and the energy they put into the finale was a brilliant way to finish the show. Finally, students from Years 9 to 12 took part in a conducting workshop with Natalia Luis-Bassa and took on the demanding challenge of conducting an orchestra. The performance of The Carnival of Animals was outstanding, and the students certainly rose to the occasion.

Congratulations to those students who have received the results of their recent music exams. We were delighted to hear that three students achieved Distinctions at Grade 8 and particular congratulations go to Ella in Year 13 and Candis in Year 12, who were both awarded the ARSM Diploma in Voice with Distinction.
