At Roedean, this year's Black History Month began with a keynote lecture from Althea Wolfe, founder of the Brighton Book Festival, who connected her family's Windrush story with her daughter's experience at Roedean. Throughout the month, students have also explored the contributions of Black women through alumnae displays, academic lectures, student-led debates and celebrations of Black literature and culture.
Roedean is proud to foster a school culture that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusivity, and nurtures a strong sense of belonging. By recognising and embracing the richness of the cultures and experiences within our community, we encourage students to develop a deeper understanding of different perspectives and a greater appreciation of the multicultural world around them.
