Last week, we welcomed our students back to School after a well-deserved half-term break. Years 11 and 13 went straight into their first set of assessments and they have all been extremly positive and calm - we are sure that they have gone well.
Eight sixth-form students took part in the Mathematical Olympiad for Girls, a competition designed to highlight and celebrate girls’ excellence in Maths - all achieved either a Merit or Distinction which is excellent. Haewon in Year 13 achieved remarkable results coming in the top 45 of over 4,700 entrants which placed her in the top 1%!
There were a number of charity events that took place last week and it was wonderful to see so many of our students and staff taking part. Year 7s participated in a sponsored silence, while students from Years 10-12 made up 50 ‘comfort boxes’ for the homeless in Brighton, and on Friday, three of our staff took part in ‘The Big Sleep Out’ to raise money for Off The Fence.
