Last week, it was wonderful to hold the first Teatime Recital of the year, particularly because it was held in the Old Ref following the recent refurbishment. The students, from Years 9 -13, performed beautifully and with confidence on the Lever Harp, Violin, Piano, Double Bass, clearly impressing the audience who all cheered at the end.
Our new Year 7 students ventured into Sussex on their first Roedean School trip. They visited Arundel Castle as part of their History unit on the Norman conquest, and were toured around the by expert guides. They had lunch in the stunning gardens, explored the grounds, and even had the chance to dress up in Medieval costumes.
We were delighted to welcome Alicia Hammond from The Wellbeing Hub to Roedean on Thursday. She spoke to three year-groups about managing stress and anxiety, along with sharing healthy coping strategies with them. She then went on to speak to a group of parents and outlined the importance of wellbeing and offered ideas for how to create a culture of success.
Finally, Mrs Green and Mrs Wienekus hosted a reception for Old Roedeanians’ in Lagos last week. It was wonderful for them to be able to meet so many of our community in Nigeria and to hear about their experiences. They also met with prospective students during their trip which included a number of daughters of ORS. We look forward to hearing more about the event.
