After a well-deserved break over half term, the students returned to School last week refreshed and ready for the rest of the Spring term.

During the break there were trips to Paris and Iceland – both were a huge success with students behaving impeccably and acting as great ambassadors for the School. In the land of fire and ice, the students’ itinerary included swimming in geothermal pools, a lava show, a glacier walk, and a day trip to the island of Heimaey, where on their return, they even saw killer whales basking in the sunshine! In Paris, students were immersed in French culture, heading to some of the capital’s most well-known museums, and of course seeing Paris’s most famous landmark, ‘La Tour Eiffel’.

Congratulations to Kelly (Yr 11), who was the winner of the Medefine Research Award 2024 following a research internship. Her outstanding academic poster and research leaflet will be displayed in a virtual exhibition in UCL for patients and visitors.

Finally, we were delighted to see so many ORs at our Higher Education Evening last week. An incredible 13 ORs joined us as speakers, both in person and via Teams links from as far afield as Los Angeles and Australia and they provided invaluable advice on applying for higher education courses.
