This month, we saw the return of the annual staff vs student hockey. With both teams having strong sides, it was going to be a tight match and there was a fantastic display of excellent skills and solid defence.

The staff scored the first goal, but the students fought back and made some brilliant saves to keep them in the game. It was wonderful to see Year 7 on the sidelines cheering, mainly for their Head of Year, Miss Bamford - they really kept the energy going! The students had a total of six short corners in the first half, but unfortunately didn’t mange to get the ball into the fiercely protected goal.

After halftime, the staff came out fighting and despite the incredible play from the students, the game ended in a 4-0 victory for the staff.

When asked about the match, the umpire said,

It’s a game of two halves.”

Well done to both the staff and students, who all showed outstanding teamwork and determination. With the students keen to redeem themselves, we are looking forward to the Staff vs Student Netball match!
