It was wonderful last week to share events and activities with those in our community celebrating Chinese New Year – the Year of the Tiger! The School was adorned with stunning papercuts and red lanterns, and celebrations were rounded off by some fantastic fireworks! In other news, last Monday Year 10 GCSE historians we were lucky to have an expert come to talk about the Western Front and the approaches made towards the prevention and treatments of illnesses throughout the First World War. 'Dickie' provided lots of detailed contextual knowledge for the topic of Medicine on the Western Front, as well as including a life-like demonstration of the role of stretcher bearers, and how the newly invented 'Thomas Splints' were put on. And finally, last Friday, all the Year 7s and a group from St Mark's took part in a fantastic Samba drumming workshop.
