This month, as part of our Chamber Music Day, some of our exceptional musicians had the wonderful opportunity to work with members of the Classical Kicks Ensemble, a unique trio who perform their own classical and jazz all over the world.
During the day, the trio held masterclasses, and the students impressed our guests with how incredibly self-motivated they were along with the astounding quality of their performances. The sessions gave the students tips on how to rehearse together, connect and communicate as a group, and also focused on how to convey more expression when performing.
In the evening, there was an inspirational recital, and it was fantastic to see the girls demonstrating how much they had taken from their coaching. When performing Chamber music, it is important that the players are watching each other and moving together, it was evident in each of these performances that there was very close communication between the players.
Congratulations to all the students who took part and to the Music department for organising such a fantastic experience.
