Last week, to mark British Science Week, our Science Faculty set up a fantastic range of activities to help inspire the Scientists in all of us. Larger events included an inflatable Planetarium in Centenary Hall on Tuesday and a visit from Dr Susie Imber, Professor of Space Physics, on Wednesday. Dr Imber is Roedean's STEM Ambassador and attended as part of the admissions STEM Day where she also took the time to speak to our current Year 7s, 8s and 11s.
Our chamber musicians had a brilliant opportunity to work with members of the Classical Kicks Ensemble on Monday, taking part in a number of inspiring masterclasses throughout the day that led on to the Chamber Music Recital in the evening where they were able to demonstrate what they had learnt. It was clear to see the passion for music that was shared between our musicians and the professionals, and it was wonderful to hear that the members of the Classic Kicks Ensemble were impressed by how much the girls had taken on from their coaching.
Congratulations to our U16 Netballers who have won the Sussex Knock-Out Cup where they came head-to-head with some of the very best teams in the county. This is an incredible achievement and highlights the exceptional coaching and sporting opportunities available at Roedean.
Finally, we were thrilled to welcome over 60 representatives from a wide range of industries and universities to our annual Futures Fair. With contributors from our parental, OR and local community, it was great to see students from every year group asking thoughtful questions with a clear thirst for knowledge. Thank you to everyone who took the time to make the event such a success.
