On Friday, the Roedean community marked Remembrance Day with a beautiful and poignant ceremony. The service was centred around the laying of wreaths, and a two-minute silence which started and ended with The Last Post and the Rouse, played perfectly by Year 11 student Ellen. Year 10 students created stunning laser cut poppies, which were engraved with remembrance poems – a truly lovely tribute.
With the recent wet and windy weather there has been little sport, so the students relished the opportunity to jump back in and play some fixtures last week. There were both Hockey and Netball matches, and the students battled well against some tough competition.
In preparation for their exams in the summer, our Year 11 students worked extremely hard and completed their GCSE assessments last week. This will no doubt be a valuable experience and will help to highlight areas of strength, along with areas that may need additional focus.
Finally, over the weekend, 100 students and staff took part in the ‘Moldova Splash’, our charity colour run. Well done to everyone involved – we can’t wait to see the photos!
