Head's Weekly Review 27 01 2023

Keeping up with everything going on at Roedean

School News

The week started with Roedean's spectacular Lunar New Year fireworks and light show. The event saw so many of our community come together, including students, staff, parents and visitors from St Mark’s which was wonderful.

On 27th January the school marked Holocaust Memorial Day in the Chapel, to remember all those killed during the Holocaust and in genocides throughout  the world. As a community we looked at the devastating impact genocide had, and took the time to also remember those who helped Jews escape Nazi persecution while often risking their own lives. It was a crucial and poignant service.

On Tuesday evening the school held an Online Pathways career event, ‘In Conversation with…’ A huge thank you to all the ORs and current parents who were speakers, giving the students the opportunity to ask questions about a variety of roles within so many different fields.

The UCAS application process concluded last week, it’s a tough process and all 89 girls have done a great job in successfully applying. In addition, it’s been fantastic that some students are already receiving offers, including five Oxbridge offers! There is more about this and many other stories in the full Head’s Weekly Review below.
