Monday marks our annual fireworks display as part of the school’s celebrations of the Lunar New Year. It’s been lovely to hear from students from several different countries including South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Singapore, about how they celebrate the festival. The school community have also been hearing about the Lunar New Year in tutor periods and assemblies.
This week there were some wonderful enrichment activities for the students. In Geography, Year 7 had a visit from ‘Jaws and Claws’ bringing a selection of wild creatures for the students to learn about and hold, helping them to understand how animals adapt to their environment over time. Year 9 had a fantastic Street Dance workshop hosted by JP Omari, one of the most widely respected Hip Hop dance figures in the UK. The girls seemed to thoroughly enjoy it with everybody getting involved.
