Last weekend, 137 students in Years 9 and 10 undertook their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Silver and Bronze practice expeditions – which we are sure many ORs remember well! They all did very well, and they are now feeling prepared and ready for the assessed expedition later this term.
In other news, three members of staff, and three students took part in a charity 165m abseil from the i360 in Brighton. Beforehand, they met representatives from Raystede, one of our School Charities, and made a donation of £1,500 to support their work protecting animals from neglect and abuse.
We also held a ‘Behind the Scenes’ event for the Brighton Chamber of Commerce. 20 guests were welcomed to the school from our local business community, where they heard from Year 12 students and Senior Team about life at Roedean, before having tours with the students and enjoying some time networking in the Old Ref. This was a valuable opportunity for the girls to practise their networking skills.
