School News

We are delighted that so many of the girls are already fully engaged with our brilliant Co-Curricular programme. Last week we saw baking, debating, farming, sport of all kinds, academic clubs, music, drama, origami, photography, and so much more! The Year 7 ‘Wild Fridays’ programme is an exciting new initiative at Roedean. We are keen for the students to appreciate the nature which surrounds them on all sides of the School, as well as developing new skills and knowledge. Over the academic year the entire Year 7 cohort will spend every Friday afternoon outside, enjoying our wonderful setting, appreciating the natural world, and having fun. In other news, last week our Year 13 Biology students enjoyed an awe-inspiring day at Wakehurst Place, which is part of Kew and has a wonderful botanic garden. It is also home of the Millennium Seed Bank, and they were extremely lucky to be the first school group that has been allowed to have a behind the scenes tour there since the Covid-19 restrictions were lifted. And finally, a massive thank you and well done to all the girls and staff who gave up their time last Sunday morning to volunteer at the Roedean Fuel Station for the Brighton Marathon.
