School News

Last week the School took full advantage of our wonderful surroundings by holding a day of wellbeing activities outside. On ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ the entire school body enjoyed a morning of Zumba and Meditation in the sunshine, and a relaxing nature walk. Year 7 students and tutors also took part in a collective act of memory to mark every life lost to Covid in the UK, by creating a temporary memorial. It was a lovely opportunity to do some things which are very different to normal school activities. In other news, we are delighted to begin the Roedean Academy for 2021. The Academy brings together students in Year 10 from 6 local secondary schools along with Roedean. Although it is entirely virtual, the programme is working well, and it is great to see that students from all the schools are happy to share their ideas and opinions in the seminars. And finally, it’s not too late to book your ticket for the next Headmaster’s Lecture with OR Dr Eugenia Cheng (No.4, 1987-94) ), on Wednesday 30 June at 7pm. “From Roedean Prefect to Chicago Professor: A Mathematician’s Manifesto for Rethinking Gender in a Male-Dominated World”. Book your free ticket for this virtual event via roedeantheatre.co.uk
