Head's Weekly Review 12 02 2021

Keeping up with everything going on at Roedean.

Last week was our Academic Week, a week looking beyond the curriculum, this year on the theme of “Being Human”. During the week the girls were able to take part in talks and activities with a variety of speakers, including talks by ORs Zoe Thompson and Sarah Dixon.

In other news, the results of the UK Chinese Culture Knowledge Contest were announced. This was the second stage of the competition. Particular congratulations go to Lareina who won first place in the UK, and now has the opportunity to represent the UK at the World Competition later in the year.

We also launched this year’s 6th Form Pathways Lecture Series. The lectures provide an opportunity for the girls to learn from ORs, parents and industry experts about their careers, themed along four pathways. The first week gave the girls the choice of listening to ORs Sally Griffiths, Kirstin Duffield and Stephanie Pujol, or parent Steve George.

And finally, booking is now open for our inaugural Headmaster’s Lecture: In Conversation with Sarah Jenkins, MD of Saatchi & Saatchi. Tickets are free of charge and can be booked here: www.roedeantheatre.co.uk.
