Head's Weekly Review 16 06 17

Keep up with everything going on at Roedean.

School News
This week we hosted New Girls’ Day where we welcomed the 80 excited girls joining Years 7-10 (U3 – L5) next year and their parents. We’ve also had a fantastic run of three performances of ‘Annie’ by the younger Girls, who did a brilliant job of bringing the show to life in an hour long performance. The Girls also took time to reflect in Chapel and Assembly time on the recent tragic events in the UK and Maria P, our Charity Prefect, has been inspired to run fundraising events to support the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

We've also seen the Careers’ Department, led by Chris Homer, host two events, an Oxbridge Evening and UCAS Day. The Oxbridge Evening on Tuesday saw students from five local state schools as well as Roedean girls benefit from talking to Admissions tutors and students from both Oxford and Cambridge, including OR Sherry Ji. The UCAS Day saw over 40 visiting speakers, including recent Roedean leavers, visit Roedean to speak to the Year 12 (6.1) Girls. We also congratulate OR Layla Moran on winning the Oxford West and Abingdon seat in the General Election.

To read more about this, and the many other things going on at Roedean, read this weeks’ Head’s Weekly Review.
