This week we hosted Rockpools Day which saw a hundred girls who are considering coming to Roedean in 2018 visit us for a fun day of activities culminating in a trip down the tunnel to hunt for creatures in the rockpools. Our new student newspaper the Artemisian was launched, spear-headed by Nahida and Ellie in 6.2. We also had the final of the Roedean Musician of the Year competition, which culminated in a performance in the Chapel, with prizes awarded in four categories.
We also saw three girls (Emily T and Martha N in 6.2 and Liv H in U4) presented with Gold Awards by the Rotary Club of Brighton for their contribution to charitable causes. Two girls (Cathy Z, L5 and Jingxuan, U5) also won 1st and 3rd respectively in the Native Chinese category of the National Chinese Essay Writing Competition. And an impromptu inter-house water-fight was held by Houses 3 and 4 to cool themselves down on the hottest day of the year. The champion was impossible to tell but we are sure it will become a regular feature of the summer calender!
