The start to the hockey season was marked on Saturday 3rd September 2022 with a super match, ORs v the School, a first, which was enjoyed by players and spectators alike. On this occasion the ORs were victorious (with a final scor of 5-0), but the girls gave the ORs a good run for their money - well played the Roedean team.
The OR team, with members spanning over a decade, also contained two sets of sisters – the Townsends and the Tomlinsons. The OR team was captained by Andrea Allen, who many will remember as a former member of the sports staff.
The match was followed by a lovely tea in the Clubhouse. Many thanks to all the ORs who played and also our spectators - parents, ORs and friends - also the Roedean sports staff for setting this match up.
The OR team was:
Andrea Allen (Former Staff, 2010-12), Florence Andrews (No.1, 2015-20), Caitlin Boyland (No.1, 2006-11), Jemima Goddard (No.4, 2016-21), Clara Hollowood (No.4, 2013-20), Philippa Jewell (Keswick, 2020-21), Nikki Payne (No.4, 2009-14), Lucy Petit (No.1, 2015-22), Gabby Tomlinson (No.4, 2007-12), George Tomlinson (No.4, 2013-16), Pheobe Tomlinson (No.4, 2007-14), Emily Townsend (No.3, 2013-18), Poppy Townsend (No.3, 2015-22).
