ORA News |
ORs gathered at the aptly named Antelope Pub off Sloane Square on the first Thursday in December for our traditional ORA Christmas Drinks - a popular destination as Old Millfieldians were downstairs! As ever, how lovely to see ORs at this time of year. Attendees came from a wide range of years, and it was lovely to see old friends and new mix together.
This week I visited the St Mungo’s Wix’s Lane Project with the generous gifts and donations from ORs which were collected on the night – a collection of sweets, chocolate, socks, mugs, toiletries, some “surprise wrapped presents” and £375 in supermarket gift cards (wow!). They are so grateful for our continuing support. It’s tough, their client’s needs are complex. One of their clients who I have met for the last three years is now moving into his own flat with support services, a big move with all the issues which lead to and from the result of homelessness and living on the streets. Our donations help fund their Christmas lunch, presents and also provide gift cards which can be used for food and clothing for new clients who arrive at the Project with nothing.
Thank you so much to all those ORs who donated.
