We may not be able to hold reunions, but our OR sportswomen have been enjoying themselves in the fresh air. Just like our OR Sailors, the OR Golfers are out and about!
Earlier in June a team of four ORs represented Roedean in the Silver Tassie Competition, which is held each year at the Berkshire Golf Club. While they did not win this time, they acquitted themselves really well. The team was Lucy Jackson (Kerry, No. 2, 1967-74) , Phoebe Daws (Hughes, No. 3, 1971-73), Jayne Almond (No. 2, 1968-75) and Sarah Waugh (No. 4, 1969-73). Thank you and well done ladies.
The Silver Tassie Competition was first played 60 years ago in 1961 with Old Roedeanians’ being one of the founding teams. Since then we have won the competition six times – more than any other team …. though Sherbourne are biting at our heels with five victories.
Our OR Golfers play twice a year, once on the Annual OR Golf Day usually held in March, and once in the Silver Tassie Competition in June.
We are always looking for new OR golfers of any age or standard to join us on the Annual Golf Day. Please email Phoebe Daws [email protected] or Sarah Waugh [email protected] if you are interested or would like further information.
