We are delighted that the School has been full of festive cheer, and despite restrictions has managed to continue with some of its Christmas traditions.
Christmas trees and decorations started appearing around the School at the end of November, and our annual Christmas jumper day saw a fantastic array of festive knitwear, tinsel and fairy lights adorning students and staff. The Prefect Team spread some Christmas cheer to the whole School, with their ’10 Days of Christmas’ challenges and treats. Everyone at the School has really appreciated the little surprises! This year the Library set a Christmas writing competition, and asked the girls to write a short story or poem that has a Christmas or Wintery theme.
This is also a time to remember that some people are less fortunate than us, and often need support over the Christmas period. Thank you to our Year 12s who organised a Christmas Foodbank for our local community in Whitehawk, Brighton.
On the last day of term the whole School enjoyed ‘attending’ both the Carol Service and Final Chapel – via livestream to their classrooms. It was wonderful, for our whole community that we were able to enjoy these communal experiences at the current time, and celebrate together. The day finished on a high with a delicious Christmas lunch, followed by Christmas activities and a quiz.
