Supporting Roedeanian Careers

ORs are invited to participate in a survey to help support current Roedeanians

Alumnae News

We are delighted that over recent years more and more Old Roedeanians have become involved with supporting current students with their future careers. ORs have a wealth of experience, and there are so many benefits to both current students and OR volunteers when this is shared.

We would love to generate even more support and connections moving forward, and so we are asking ORs to complete a short survey to help us understand what you are doing and how you may be happy and able to help in the future. There are also some general questions to help us know how we can shape fundraising and alumnae communications.

The survey will take no more than 10-15 minutes, and is split into sections so you can skip parts that aren't relevant to you. To complete the survey, please go to: https://rb.gy/gi8rhc

Some of the ways ORs have supported students in recent years are:

One-to-One Mentoring

This can be in person, via email, or arranging a video call. These sessions would normally be with 6th Form students, who would like to learn more in depth information about particular careers, would like support with applications, or help with interview preparation.

Careers Talks

Current Roedeanians love to hear from ORs because they feel so much more of a connection with you - they know that you started from the same place as them. We have a programme of careers talks for the 6th Form called the Pathways Lectures, arrange speakers for co-curricular clubs such as Medical Society and ad hoc lunchtime talks.

Careers Fair

Our annual Careers Fair is a highlight in the School calendar and normally takes place on an afternoon in March. Centenary Hall is taken over with stalls representing as many different careers as possible and the fair is attended by our own students, and students from our Roedean Academy partner Schools.

To complete the survey please visit: https://rb.gy/gi8rhc. Or if you would like more information, you can contact us on [email protected].
