On Friday 5th January we headed up to London for our long-awaited Young Roedeanians’ Networking Event. It was wonderful to see so many ORs aged 18-30 as well as some OR Career Reps, teaching staff, and a group of enthusiastic Sixth-Form students.

The event was held in the vibrant Bermondsey area, close to London Bridge, which was easy to reach for those heading straight from work.

Guests enjoyed a selection of delicious canapés and drinks and for some it was the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends after years of not seeing one another.

Our fantastic Career Reps were able to chat to Young ORs and Sixth Formers about their current job, what their role entails, and the route that  they took to get to where they are now. It was fascinating to hear about Careers in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, and Film Production, as well as learning about the courses currently being studied by some ORs in areas such as Psychotherapy, English, and Philosophy.

Thank you to everyone who came along, we are looking forward to our next event in February and to meeting many more ORs this year. The next Young Roedeanians' Networking Evening has been pencilled in for Friday 6th September so look out for more information!
