One of the highlights of last week had to be the visit from OR Amber Anning who returned to Roedean as a double Olympic Bronze Medallist! Amber spoke to students about her incredible journey and the hard work and dedication it took to get to where she is now. The students had so many questions for Amber following her talk and we are so grateful that she took the time to come back to school to inspire the next generation.
Year 7 students took part in an online lesson with award-winning poet, Laura Mucha. The lesson was also part of an official attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the largest online lesson and was attended by students across the globe including France, Spain, Mexico, Sweden, Netherlands and Cyprus - we eagerly await confirmation from the Guinness World Records team.
Finally, huge congratulations to a team of eleven staff and students, who braved chilly conditions to swim in the Brighton Sea Lanes pool, starting and finishing the Rockinghorse Charity Race. The race was a 12-hour swim relay, and all money raised will help fund a new well-being hub at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
