Head's Weekly Review 09 06 17

Keep up with everything going on at Roedean.

School News

We said a very heartfelt goodbye to this year’s leavers on the Friday before half term, with a lovely breakfast, Leaver’s Chapel, Hand-Shaking and, of course, the Leavers’ Ball at the Grand. We wish them the best of luck for the future! Our second Women in the Workplace conference, this time for Years 7-9, was a resounding success! With the participation of ORs and parents in a variety of professions on the panel, an exciting careers quiz and the chance to pick the panel’s brains over tea in the Dance Studio, the girls had a great time.

The annual Primary Science Day was a great success, seeing 180 children from the local area undertaking exciting experiments involving rockets, chemical explosions and a variety of bangs and flashes! Our Visual and Performing Arts Day went equally as well, with a number of primary and prep schools taking part in a day of arts workshops. We also ran our own Mock General Election last week, with our Year 12 Politics students taking charge as campaign managers for the four major parties, and with great participation from the rest of the School. Read this week’s Head’s Weekly Review to find out the results.
