Head's Weekly Review 26 05 17

Keep up with everything going on at Roedean.

School News
We stood in silence along with the nation at 11 o’clock on Thursday to remember those killed and injured in the Manchester attack last week, followed by an important message from Mr Blond on allowing ourselves to feel and speak about our feelings in difficult times. In response to the early General Election, our Year 12 Government and Politics students have been organising an election of Roedean’s own, with the girls becoming ‘Campaign Managers’ for four national political parties. Congratulations to Amber A (Yr 11) on being selected as one of six girls to compete for England in the International Schools’ Federations World Schools’ Athletics Championship in 400m, Triple Jump and Relay.

We also said goodbye to the Year 13 leavers on Friday with a lovely breakfast, a final Chapel and a rather striking Tutor Group photoshoot. The Dance showcase brought colour, energy and artistry to the stage, complete with striking visuals for students, staff and parents to enjoy. Well done to Lola C (Yr 7) for completing her adventure story ‘Escaping London’, written entirely in French – quite a feat for her young age.
