ORA News |
Sadly, Lois Johnson (Campbell, No.3, 1979-86) retired from the ORA Committee at the ORA AGM in November. Lois has given sterling service to the ORA for over the last 10 years serving as Membership Secretary and latterly as Vice President. She has also been responsible for taking the AGM Minutes. We are very sorry to lose her with her depth of knowledge on everything ORA, but with children growing up, her career is beckoning, she is currently working as a School Wellbeing service Co-Ordinator for Islington Council, and she feels that she cannot devote the time that she would like to the ORA.
Despite retiring from the Committee, it is typical of her dedication to the ORA that she continued to work with the rest of the Editorial Board on the 2021 issue of the Old Roedeanians’ Magazine which has now finally gone to the designer last week – so I think we can now say Lois really has “officially retired”.
Lois has been a well-recognised presence at OR events, and it was lovely to see her at the ORA Christmas Drinks at the beginning of December, still making sure that our guests felt welcome.
We will miss you Lois, and thank you from all of us for all you have done for ORs and the ORA.
I am delighted to say that Jane Aldred (Curran, JH, No.4, LH 1968-75) who has been part of the ORA Committee since June this year has now taken over the role as ORA Membership Secretary, so if you email [email protected] it will now be Jane who replies and not Lois!
