Welcome to the first Head’s weekly review for the new academic year. There has been a real buzz of excitement and activity as many girls are welcomed back or to the school for the first time. We were delighted to hear about everyone’s summer holidays, with 2 pupils travelling as far as Nepal and India to volunteer at a Special Educational and Rehabilitation Centre and an Orphanage. School activities have already got off to a flying start with a group of sixth formers taking some wonderful archive photos taken of school activities and giving them a modern twist! They are hoping that others will take on the challenge with the best photos featuring in a charity calendar.
The first week of term ended with two conferences on Independent Learning and Study Skills for Year 12 and 13. Following the morning sessions the girls took part in a variety of different activities off site including Go-Karting and Go Ape. It was great to see the girls all working together and overcome all manner of obstacles on the course. The Hockey season also got off to a strong start, with the Assistant Coach being so inspired he composed a poem about the match!
