At the end of the second full week of term, everyone is settling in to the new school routines. It’s been a busy week with nearly 40 visitors coming to Roedean as part of the national Heritage Open Day programme. Everyone who came was delighted with the tour, and found out a great deal about the history of the school and its buildings from their very knowledgeable guides, Jackie Sullivan (our archivist) and Lesley Morrill. Year 12 girls also performed exceptionally well in the 2017 University of Cambridge Chemistry Challenge, gaining the best results achieved by Roedean chemists in the seven years that the competition has been running.
As autumn fast approaches, the farm prefects have been busy harvesting potaotes from the school allotment as well as preparing the sheep for the winter months ahead. Over the weekend, 30 girls from all years enjoyed an exhilarating afternoon powerboating in the marina. The weather was really gusty, so the girls and staff had to hang on for dear life, but they all had a brilliant time!
