Head's Weekly Review 06 03 2020
Keeping up with everything going on at Roedean.
Not even the torrential rain last Thursday could dampen our spirits at Roedean as we held our Festival Celebrating Inspiring Women. The sixteen speakers we welcomed to Roedean this year were true inspirations – their talks were challenging, thought-provoking, entertaining, and, most of all, empowering. In other news, the School marked World Book Day on Wednesday last week, and we were delighted that pupils from St Mark’s came up to the School to join in with the World Book Day fun. They met with their Year 9 reading buddies and created literary inspired hats and accessories before heading to the library to participate in the World Book Day fashion show. And finally, on Friday 28th February, we enjoyed a brilliant ‘Name that Tune’ gala concert, which once again, proved to be one of the highlights of the school year. It showcased the wealth of talent, musical diversity, and incredibly high standards at the School. A packed Chapel thoroughly enjoyed the pupil-led concert programme, covering a wide range of musical styles inspired by the theme of names.
