Keeping up with everything going on at Roedean.

It’s hard to believe that there are only two weeks left before we break up for the summer.  Congratulations and an enormous well done to the cast, crew and directors of our summer term production of Peter Pan.  Over seventy girls were involved from Years 7 – 9, and they created a wonderful show. On Thursday last week the Year 12 History students ventured to London to visit the National Archive. The archive contains more than 12 million documents that have, in some way, helped to shape history. It was a genuine privilege for the girls to see and handle some of these historical documents, including pieces written by Queen Elizabeth I! In other news, 100 girls in Year 5 came to Roedean to take part in our annual Rockpools Day last week. Although it was a blustery day, everyone loved searching for crabs and anemones, and even had some unusual finds, including a mask crab and a red periwinkle. And finally, the Art Department is delighted to announce another incredible achievement by an A Level Art student. Fawn C (Yr12) has had her painting 'Untitled' selected by the Royal Academy for the 2019 Young Artists’ Summer Show. Selected from over 6000 entries, Fawn’s painting is one of just 300 displayed online and in the gallery at Burlington House in Piccadilly, London.
