School News
Parents, ORs, and friends of the School joined the Headmaster and senior PE staff in Keswick Hall for breakfast and a presentation on the Pitch Perfect appeal on Thursday 16 November.

After everyone enjoyed the continental breakfast, the Headmaster introduced the project, highlighting how competitive sport is a key part of the Roedean experience and how it will transform sporting facilities at the School. This sentiment was echoed by Karen Andrew, Faculty Lead Sport, and Alastair Carter, Head of Hockey, who both described how an all-weather pitch, floodlighting and resurfacing of the existing courts will help take sport to the next level at Roedean.

Mark Taylor, Director of Alumnae Relations and Development, followed, describing the long history of philanthropy at the School and the target for the Pitch Perfect appeal. The presentation was concluded by two students, Maggie EB (Year 13) and Maria V (Year 7), who expressed how the new facilities will greatly benefit them and their peers.

The group was then given a tour of the site, kitted out in high-vis jackets and hard hats! Luckily the weather was kind and there was not a breath of wind. Shayne Parker, Director of Operations at the School, gave an update on how well the project is progressing, before introducing Peter Fowler, Contracts Manager at S&C Slatter. Everyone was very impressed by the scale of the work being done and enjoyed the tour immensely.

We would like to thank everyone who came to the breakfast, and if you would like a tour of the pitch site, please contact Mark Taylor via [email protected] or on 01273 667588.
