OR Amber Anning (No. 2, 2012-17) is definitely on our one to watch list, as she takes the athletics world by storm, and Independent School Sport Magazine, have recently featured her on the front cover, and as the main feature article, in their Summer 2020 issue.

Amber joined Roedean as part of our push to recruit more local girls, talented in subjects such as art, drama and sport. Amber received a Sports Scholarship and Bursary, and during her time at Roedean, she represented the School in swimming, netball, hockey, rounders and athletics. Reflecting on her time at Roedean and particularly it being an all-girls school, Amber said "We could do anything we wanted to do and were not constrained by gender stereotypes, subsequently Roedean is really strong for STEM subjects."

Amber joined the Team GB squad for the European Athletics Indoor Championships in March 2019, gaining the attention of four time Olympic gold medallist Michael Johnson, she now has her sights set on a spot at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics.
