Governors' AGM 2019

The 2019 Governors’ AGM was held on 11th March 2019 at 6pm at the Caledonian Club, London.

Governors' News
The meeting was chaired by Roger Sanders OBE, Chair of the Council of Trustees in the absence of Lady Lavender Patten (Thornton, No.3, 1955 – 61), President of the Corporation, and was attended by 72 Governors.

The business of the AGM was carried out in conformity with the Royal Charter.

The AGM:
  1. Approved the Minutes of the AGM held on 19th February 2018;
  2. Accepted the Annual Report and Accounts that were presented by the Chair of the Council of Trustees and Chair of the Finance Committee respectively;
  3. Re-appointed the Auditors, Crowe UK for a further term of twelve months;
  4. Elected three new Trustees to the Council of Trustees. 
The meeting also included an update from the School from John Hobbs, Deputy Head Academic, and a question and answer session.

The Election
A total of 1,262 votes were cast from the 72 Governors present plus 351 proxies. John Fawcett-Ellis, Clerk to Council, acted as the returning officer with assistance from: Trustee Kathy Cowell (Behrens, No.3, 1965 – 71), Vice-President of the ORA Mary Henderson (No.3, 1971 – 76) and Trustee Teresa Outhwaite (Brach, No.1, 1985 – 91)
Votes were cast as follows:
 
Lulu Dale (Durrand-Deslongrais, No.3, 1974 – 78) 335
Rosemary Eaton (Uffen, No.1, 1973 – 81) 97
Frances Graham(No.4, 1982 – 89) 207
Claire Jenkins (No.3, 1973 – 80) 222
Camilla Nightingale (Johnston-Lyon, No.1, 1982 – 89) 198
Vivien Smiley (Paulson-Ellis, No.2, 1988 – 93) 203

Therefore, the following were duly elected to serve as Trustees: Lulu Dale, Frances Graham and Claire Jenkins.

The minutes from the meeting will be made available soon on the Governors AGM page on the School website. The meeting was followed by dinner at the club and we were delighted that so many Governors’ attended.
