Head's Weekly Review 09 02 2018

Keeping up with everything going on at Roedean
20 Feb 2018
School News
The girls enjoyed waking up to a blanket of snow, everyone dashed outside before morning registration to have some fun!  This year the School celebrated Chinese New Year a few days early, with an amazing spread of Chinese food and a firework display.  The whole of Year 9 also took part in the Ryman’s National Enterprise Challenge. This was an opportunity for the students to work in groups on a variety of challenges based around designing a new roller-coaster for Alton Towers.

To mark the anniversary of 100 years of Women’s Suffrage on 6 February, we had a wonderful service which focused on the events of 1918, and then presented the current situation from the girls’ perspective.  In other news, Year 13 Psychology and Biology students were lucky enough to have a ‘Brain Day’ led by Dr Guy Sutton. The day was an intensive introduction to Neuroscience and featured cutting edge research into Brain Structure, Schizophrenia, and the ‘Criminal Mind’, amongst other topics.
